There are many University offers at your disposal in Spain.

Nowadays, to study is essential in order to work within a society that is increasingly becoming more demanding; here a university or college degree is a fundamental item. Therefore, the choice of both, the university and the degree will influence your future. This post is addressed to all of the people interested in the university offer in Spain and more specifically in the low Mediterranean coastline.

Most of our universities are governed by the rules of the Bologna Plan. This plan consists of  the university exchange programmes around Europe, but also among countries like Russia, Turkey and Norway. However, knowing about the different learning styles is of most concern to students. Here in Spain, degrees have a timescale of 4 years, that is 60 ECTS (European credit transfer system) per year and 240 ECTS in total. In addition, there exists also the possibility of taking a double degree that consists of 360 ECTS.

In Spain we have 50 state Universities distributed around the country. Some of them are so old, like the one in Salamanca founded in 1218, this is the third oldest  in Europe. Besides, the University of Murcia, built in 1277, which has a total of 34.000 students and a great International and National recognition. All the state universities offer a lot of different degrees, double degrees, masters programmes and courses.

On the other hand, for those who prefer a different source of learning, there are many private universities (around 32), all of them with great prestige as well. One of the most important ones is the University of Navarra, with more than 900 teachers, 11000 students, with campus’ in Pamplona, San Sebastián, Madrid, Barcelona and New York. Furthermore, it is well-known for it’s hospital specialising in Oncology, Cardiology and palliative care.

In view of this we would like to extend this topic by giving special attention to the most relevant universities in Alicante, Murcia and Madrid (both state and private). If you would like to know more,  please visit our page again. Our next posts will have further information.
